Personal Health Record (PHR) Standards
There are many standards, open specifications, and efforts toward standardization of PHR information, and
services.
HealthFrame leverages a wide variety of these standards to increase security, and bring to
consumers the benefits of data interoperability.
Some Important Healthcare-related Standards
-
Continuity of Care Record (CCR)
The ASTM Continuity of Care Record enables the exchange of information about
a patient's health care that is accessible to clinicians and patients, supporting continuity of care.
-
Continuity of Care Document (CCD)
The HL7 Continuity of Care Document represents the patient health summary record.
CCD is the result of the harmonization between HL7's Clinical Document Architecture (CDA) and
the ASTM's Continuity of Care Record (CCR).
-
HealthFrame OpenHealth Services
HealthFrame's OpenHealth Services specification is designed to leverage the many existing
standards for health record representations (e.g. CCR) and report representations (e.g. PDF, HTML),
and provide a simple standardized infrastructure for web-based and local services.
-
HealthFrame Open PHR Schema(s)
Records For Living has made publicly and freely available the XML Schemas used
for the HealthFrame Personal Health Record software.
-
Unified Medical Language System (UMLS)
The U.S. government's National Library of Medicine's (NLM -
http://www.nlm.nih.gov) Unified Medical Language System (UMLS)
facilitates the development of computer systems that behave as if they
"understand" the meaning of the language of biomedicine and health.
